Derek attended Paris and Barcelona Universities, has lived in 8 countries and traveled in 75. He works on-camera from TelePrompTer in French, Italian, German and Castilian Spanish. He was an RAF Officer, an AE in an international ad agency, a CEO, and a consultant to several international companies. He always wanted to be a TV host, but had to wait till 1976 when he was invited to coach international trap and skeet shooters in South Africa and Rhodesia. He met Mike Hart-Jones, head of Rhodesian TV, who hired Derek. Within a year, his live magazine program, 'Frankly Partridge', became Rhodesia's most popular show. Mike wrote to the Board of Directors that Derek's fan mail, from viewers of all races and ages, was unprecedented in his ten years at RTV. Derek was RTV's head news anchor, quiz master of 'The Kwhizz Kids' and presented 'Message to the Nation' specials. |

His pamphlet Rhodesia - As It Really Is was described by London's Daily Telegraph as "a drop of truth in an ocean of lies" and, 10 million copies were distributed in 42 countries. For 3 years, his weekly column Derek Partridge reporting from... appeared in Look and Listen, Rhodesia's TV Guide. |
