MINI BIO
Derek attended Paris and Barcelona Universities, has lived in 8 countries and traveled in 75. He works on-camera from TelePrompTer in French, Italian, German and Castilian Spanish. He was an RAF Officer, an AE in an international ad agency, a CEO, and a consultant to several international companies. He always wanted to be a TV host, but had to wait till 1976 when he was invited to coach international trap and skeet shooters in South Africa and Rhodesia. He met Mike Hart-Jones, head of Rhodesian TV, who hired Derek. Within a year, his live magazine program, 'Frankly Partridge', became Rhodesia's most popular show. Mike wrote to the Board of Directors that Derek's fan mail, from viewers of all races and ages, was unprecedented in his ten years at RTV. Derek was RTV's head news anchor, quiz master of 'The Kwhizz Kids' and presented 'Message to the Nation' specials.

His book Thought-Provoking Thoughts About Living was first published in Rhodesia as Frankly Partridge. His pamphlet Rhodesia - As It Really Is was described by London's Daily Telegraph as "a drop of truth in an ocean of lies" and, 10 million copies were distributed in 42 countries. For 3 years, his weekly column Derek Partridge reporting from... appeared in Look and Listen, Rhodesia's TV Guide.

Derek guest starred in the original Star Trek (below)Murder She Wrote, Remington Steele, Hunter, TJ Hooker and in Dallas as a BBC TV news anchor.  He was almost cast as the next 007 Bond after George Lazenby!  He starred in 3 films: Savage Harvest (left) (20th Century Fox) with Michelle Phillips playing his wife, and Tom Skerritt; The Ivory Ape as the villain, opposite Oscar winner Jack Palance, who played the "good guy!" and in Warner Brothers M.I.A. as an American Colonel. He was featured in films with David Niven and Dirk Bogarde.
