JUST BEFORE FLIGHT 777 TOOK OFF FROM PORTUGAL TO ENGLAND, 7-YEAR OLD DEREK HAD TO VACATE HIS SEAT, SO VIP LESLIE HOWARD (Ashley in “Gone With The Wind”) COULD TAKE HIS PLACE. THE DAKOTA WAS SHOT DOWN BY 6 GERMAN Ju88 FIGHTERS OVER THE BAY OF BISCAY, WITH THE LOSS OF ALL LIVES. In London, Derek hosted: "The Mystery of Flight 777" (see first clip on video demo) and “Leslie Howard: A Quite Remarkable Life”. After another trip to Europe to host farm equipment giant, Massey Ferguson's 50th Anniversary film in French, Italian, Spanish, German & Irish, he's back and will narrate “Seal Island” a feature film like "March of the Penguins" and a documentary on Charles Lindbergh.

Derek won the 2007 Voicey Lifetime Achievement Award, which joins his 2 Emmys and 2 Tellys. He is spokesman for Monex Precious Metals, on CNN Headline News, for animal sanctuary Best Friends and for Balboa Pacific, whose technology converts toxic waste into reusable materials by pyrolitic gasification. He presents corporate videos and TV programs on health, medicine, the environment, finance, commerce, law, art, travel, religion, training, safety, sport and celebrity interviews.

Recent work includes hosting "Dead Patients Don't Lie" (Cure For Heart Disease), "Magical Egypt" (8-part series), narration for "Adventures Abroad" (26-week Outdoor Channel series), "Mission: World's Homeless Children", "Little Britain" (BBC America),"Planet Earth" (BBC TV promos), Chlorine Dioxide Technology.

Derek hosted the documentary "Betrayal of the American Investor", about Germany owing American investors 600 Billion dollars and, ABC TV's Prime Time reality pilot "Wallet Roulette", produced by Britain's prestigious Granada TV. For 40 years, his distinguished appearance and distinctive (but unstuffy!) Brit accent have provided credibility for quality programs, products and services.

He's well known to affluent viewers from 10 years as an anchor, writer and interviewer at FNN, Financial News Network, now CNBC, (pictured right). As host of Non Profit TV News, Derek specialised in the environment, wildlife conservation and pollution. In the 60s, as CEO of Conservation Tools & Technology, he wrote about these subjects... long before it was 'politically correct'!
He started with RTV and RBC radio in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), where he was the nation's head TV news anchor, host of the top-rated talk show "Frankly Partridge" (pictured left) and presenter of Message to the Nation TV specials. In Miami, he hosted two daily, 2-hour radio talk shows and anchored the 6.0 pm news hour for ABC affiliate WKAT. He was also a news anchor for London's Sky TV.
